Habib University students can apply for the research abroad program at TEXAS A&M University.
The selection for the Research Abroad Program is competitive and based on the quality of applications. A holistic review is conducted based on student’s academic standing, research capabilities, presentation and statement of purpose.

Applicant must be a Junior (3rd year) full-time student at Habib University
Applicant must be from the Dhanani School of Science and Engineering (DSSE)
At the time of submitting the application, it is mandatory that the applicant must upload a scanned copy of passport
Minimum GPA: 3.50 CGPA
Applicants must upload their latest transcript via application form, the document uploaded is forwarded to Office of Registrar for verification purposes.
No conduct case filed against the applicant for any of the following: Plagiarism, cheating, theft, vandalism, bullying, sexual harassment and misconduct, use of drugs/alcohol/weapons, physical assault, or severe violation of operational policies of the University.
A list of all eligible applicants is forwarded to the Office of Conduct, the office shares clearance and conduct record of relevant applicants.
In case the students have any charges against them, but they have cleared all the sanctions before they apply for the program, they are eligible.
In case of any current conduct, the applicant is disqualified from the program.
Applicants must have no outstanding University fees at the time of submitting application.
A list of all eligible applicants is share with the Office of Student Finance who are responsible for sharing the financial status of these applicants.
In case of any outstanding payment(s), students are directed to clear their dues before the application deadline.
Applicant must provide a priority listing of 5 faculty members (Engineering only) at TEXAS A&M whose research interests them. They are requested to write short paragraphs for each of the selected faculty members. The applicants must also provide examples of their own past experiences in this selected research area (for example, courses, trainings, assignments etc.) if any, to support their answer with the help of it.
The applicant has to write 250-500 words on each of the selected faculty members.
Applicant must answer the following question at the time of form submission for their personal statement
Applicant must limit their answers as per word limit
The Writing Center evaluates the personal statements of all the applicants
The presentation is an opportunity for applicants to convince jury members as to why they should be selected.
All applicants who fulfill the basic eligibility criteria are invited to make a presentation
Each presentation slot is a total of 20 minutes in which all applicants who fulfill the basic eligibility criteria are invited to make a presentation of 10 minutes in front of a jury, which is followed by a question/answer session for the remaining duration of time.
Jury consists of three panel members, including two faculty members from the Dhanani School of Science and Engineering (DSSE) and one staff member assigned by the Office of Global Engagement.
The mode of presentation is not restricted to a PowerPoint Presentation. Applicants are allowed to use any creative way of making their presentation using different tools and strategies.

The average score of the faculty members and staff is used for the evaluation of the presentation
Candidates that are selected for the Research Abroad Program are matched according to the submitted list of 5 priority faculty members and their area of research interest presented
Only those candidates that match with the faculty are selected to start the Texas A&M application process
