Project Title
Street Car vs Street Life
Description
In my final year project, I am focusing on the pitfalls of personal motor transport (cars/motorbikes) and the urban design practices that encourage its usage (such as signal-free corridors, wide roads). Private motor transport leads to social atomization, safety concerns, reduced funding for public services, and overall degradation of life for anyone not using it. The aim of the project is to spotlight issues associated with such transport, extending beyond the environmental and to include sound and space amongst others, and what life could be like if they don't continue to dominate the public realm.
