Final Year Project

Project Title

Daastan-e-Karachi: Preserving Karachi’s Intangible Heritage

Description

Dastaan-e-Karachi is an augmented reality platform that proposes a new way to preserve and share Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). ICH is both traditional and contemporary, it need not only represent traditions we inherit but can also include present day rural and urban practices in which diverse cultural groups take part. This project focuses on folklore and urban legends specific to Karachi and creates a new medium for people to interact with. Dastaan-e-Karachi is a transdisciplinary project, and a collaboration between Talha Kehar and Fatin Nawaz.
