I have always taken a keen interest in writing stories and therefore I aspire to become a successful writer. I want to pursue an MFA in creative fiction and hopefully, a second masters in linguistics to enhance my knowledge and skills of the language I am most comfortable writing in.

Woman in Check
Description
My project is based on the struggles of South Asian women. It brings out our cultural practices and beliefs that hurt and hinder the healthy emotional development of young girls and how instead we encourage behaviours and ideologies that promote self-hate and foster insecurities. I am writing a novella on this topic by showing the journey of a young South Asian girl at age 15 and how her milieu has led her to practices that harm her mental and emotional growth affecting the choices she makes and moulding her into the kind of person she grows up to be. The novella will contain 7 chapters and each chapter will be introduced through a representational illustration that depicts the protagonist’s struggles.
