Final Year Project
Project Title
Disability is a Problem of Design
Description
My project addresses the problem of disability, and claims that an inclusive environment can be achieved using automation and technology. The idea of this project is to minimize the physical constraints of performing dependable tasks. For now, this idea is to be implemented in shopping marts. An automated cart is built that will have the ability to follow a specific user through vision and non-vision techniques, and also avoid obstacles in its path. For future, the aim is to provide such carts or trolleys to leading super markets in Karachi that will help public spaces be more inclusive. Apart from this, these carts are also meant to be used in households, libraries, hospitals, hotels or wherever there is a need for automation.
