Final Year Project
Project Title
Sectarian Entrepreneurialism and the (Post-Civil War) State of Lebanon
Description
This paper is a small addition to the existing anthropological work on the reconstruction of Beirut in post-civil war Lebanon. It shows the way in which the cultural landscape of downtown Beirut were transformed in the years following the war, as part of a project of the universalist forces of neoliberalism. The paper thus situates post-Civil war Lebanon in a global (cultural) economy of power relations.
