Final Year Project

Project Title

VirtYou

Description

VirtYou involves developing a digital twin of a physical space using Virtual Reality (VR) as the user interface. VirtYou incorporates data from sensors already deployed within the target location. It incorporates a data overlay – the result of analytics on the data – over the rendered virtual environment. The aim is to perform analytics in real-time and minimize the lag between data fetch and upload. In this way, the twin enables the user(s) to remotely monitor and make changes to the physical location through its VR counterpart. The process involves a wireless sensor network transmitting data from the deployed sensors to a database and then to our digital twin. VirtYou optimizes the design and performance of buildings/infrastructure/physical assets by using twins to simulate and analyze their behavior and identify potential improvements.
