Description
My capstone project is a narrative audio piece accompanied by a mixed media animation that tells a story about Najla Nizari, who is a 17-year-old Afghan refugee now living in Karachi, legally protected by the Ismaili community. This piece is a collection of her memories of fleeing from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover to resettling in Pakistan. This project aims to highlight the existing disparity between promised resources and available aid for Afghan refugees. More critically, I want to interrogate the ongoing challenges refugees face in this city while remaining true to their humanity, which will serve as the ultimate aim of this project.
