Final Year Project
Project Title
Reducing the Pendency of Cases: The Potential of an Electronic Court System in Lahore, Pakistan
Description
This project aims to reduce the pendency of cases in Lahore, Pakistan by proposing the potential of an electronic court system in Lahore, as it is the only province to have introduced court digitization to speed up the justice process. The paper uses the disposal of cases as a measure of speedy justice. Data from 2013 and 2019, has been extracted from the Lahore district court website to examine the efficiency of the justice system pre and post-technology. The results showed a quicker disposal rate of cases in post-technology Lahore compared to pre-technology Lahore, indicating that technological advancement and court digitization have played a role in speeding up the justice process. The implementation of such a system would help lower the backlog of cases that plagues our justice system.
