Imagining Right Wing Politics in Lyari

Description

My research is on the emergence of a right-wing Islamist group (Tehreek-e-Labbaik) in Lyari, Karachi which was erstwhile considered a stronghold of Pakistan People’s Party, a left-wing party. My paper explores the reasons behind the rise of TLP, providing insight into how the voters of otherwise secular strongholds could switch allegiance to a violent right-wing group.
