Project Title
Greening Karachi: Potential, Challenges, and a Theory of Change
Description
My interdisciplinary ecological research probes into the complex relationship between city design, citizen engagement, and green spaces within Karachi. The literature review of worldwide city greening projects helped situate Karachi in the global context of climate change adaptation. The study includes interviews with experts on the subject, proposing a focus on increased plantation of trees resulting in absorption of more carbon than grass (which has been preferred for its aesthetic value).
