Final Year Project
Project Title
Research Paper title: Developmental and psychological effects of board games on children
Description
For my final year design research paper, I explored the different ways board games can be used as tools and strategies to simplify complex behaviours and systems and can be used to modify children's behaviour and cognition. Using that research, I designed an educational facts-based board game for children over the ages of 12+ named Krokola -- which is another ancient name of Karachi -- similar to the game Monopoly in such a way that it maps out the entire city of Karachi as the locations on it (monuments/landmarks) are localized to it to give an accurate representation in order to bridge the gap between the "across the bridge" mentality. The board itself has accompanying cards that ask trivia questions about the city itself including those of problem solving/decision making/navigation etc. along with interesting facts and figures illustrated on the back of the cards.
