Karachi on Wheels

Description

Karachi has always been a cosmopolitan city. As time progressed and under the rule of different regimes, it became fragmented. It was no longer celebrated as the hub of diversity and growth. Through this project, we wish to leverage on how diversity can be a source of bonding in a city like Karachi. How these fragments can be woven together to build cohesiveness. We like to call our space a chameleon. It functions as a transformative space with three key aspects - exhibition, performance, interaction/immersion. We want to create an intimate experience of Karachi through the years preceding its formation. What Karachi once was. This project also serves as a time capsule evoking feeling of nostalgia in older generations, whilst preserving the history of Karachi (including first-hand accounts of memories shared by the people of this city) for the generations to come.
