Bolo: A Sign Language Learning Application

Description

Bolo is a mobile application designed to make Pakistani Sign Language (PSL) accessible and easy to learn through transformer based real-time computer vision feedback. In Pakistan, over 10 million individuals experience hearing impairments and rely on PSL, yet most of the population remains unfamiliar with it, creating a communication barrier. Bolo aims to bridge this gap by allowing users to learn PSL interactively, receiving instant feedback on their signing, which helps improve accuracy, fluency, and confidence. We are working closely with entities like Deaf Reach and ConnectHear, sign language experts, and members of the deaf community to ensure that the PSL taught is widely understood and accepted. By democratizing access to PSL education, Bolo empowers more people to engage meaningfully with the deaf community, fostering inclusion and empathy. We strive to make communication a right for all, not just a privilege for hearing individuals, contributing to a more inclusive society.
