Final Year Project
Project Title
E-Commerce and Empowerment: Exploring Metamarkets as the Medium for Increasing Female Entrepreneurship in Pakistan
Description
This project investigates the emerging online market spaces from a gendered perspective. By exploring the relationship between physical and digital realms in the formation of the digital economy, this paper argues that digitalized market spaces have the potential to increase female entrepreneurship in Pakistan and empower women by overcoming socio-cultural barriers that restrict their entrepreneurial activity in physical markets. It is significant because it addresses the problem of low female entrepreneurship not only in Pakistan, but also globally. Lastly, this study brings a new dimension to the ongoing discourse by bridging the theoretical concepts exploring cyberspace and the practice of digital female entrepreneurship.
