Project Title

Valley Arkari: A case study of the impacts of internet unavailability on the students of remote areas of Chitral District amidst the COVID-19 outbreak

Description

This research aims to explore the multifaceted impacts of COVID 19 on the lives of students, specifically female and members of poorest families, belonging to the above-mentioned geographical region. In doing so, it intends to find out those education related problems which are inextricably linked with internet accessibility. Following are the primary research objectives: 1. Engagements with students and relevant people (selected region) in order to comprehend the profound impact of internet unavailability amid COVID-19 outbreak. 2. Explore the various socio-political hurdles regarding educational challenges given the region’s historical position and modern challenges simultaneously. 3. Understanding the relevant polarized terms i.e., virtual/real, urban/rural, online/face to face, global/regional etc. through Marx’s dialectic of abstraction and concreteness. 4. Finding feasible learning methods/ strategies that might be useful in helping the students of above mentioned area.
