Final Year Project
Project Title
PanelBot
Description
I am making an automatic solar panel cleaning robot for industrial PV systems for my fYP. The robot will reduce the labor cost and excessive water usage associated with solar panel cleaning, and it would and help increase the frequency of cleaning to ensure that the power output of the PV system stays at its maximum (given the irradiance). The robot will mount on to the solar panel array using mounting wheels, and it will employ PID controllers with custom motor encoders to ensure that the robot moves smoothly over the array and avoid any risks of dismounting. The robot will use a low amount of water and a rotating spiral nylon brush to get rid of the dust, dirt and stains over the solar panels.
