Final Year Project

Project Title

Mental Health and Cumulative Socio-Economic and Familial Pressure: Prospects for First-Born Males in Pakistan

Description

My research focuses on the mental health of firstborn males in Pakistan and how their social roles and family expectations shape their youth. Masculinity has been ascribed to a series of roles and responsibilities and failure of compliance in some areas can act as a stressor, where one stress factor always acts as a gateway for another and becomes life-threatening. My research will delineate the problematic background forces that enhance this process and what could be some of the mitigation strategies in order to tackle this dilemma.
