Final Year Project

Project Title

Exploratory Study to Determine Efficacy of Haptic Feedback and Virtual Reality for Flight Simulation Training

Description

Our unnoticeable memories of touch have formed our experiences of the world. Haptic feedback is a new research domain that aims to [re]create the sense of touch. It has a huge potential in, but not limited to, the textile industry, remote surgery, prosthetic limbs, and vocational training. With Pakistan Air Force as a client, this project applies haptic feedback coupled with Virtual Reality (VR) to produce high-fidelity flight experience. It is to improve the quality of pilot training. This project is also assessing the individual and collective efficacy of Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS), linear resonant actuators, and electromechanical exoskeleton structure in the generation of haptic feedback for avionics applications.
