Final Year Project
Project Title
Evolution in the Bengal Manufacturing Sector
Description
My thesis focuses on the evolution of the textile manufacturing industry in Bengal during the two main eras - before the arrival of the British colonization, and during the colonization period. It looks into how the structure of the manufacturing sector changed during the British administration, how the change in the availability of credit influenced the manufacturing sector and the impact of changes in the land property rights regime. The thesis concentrates on the textile industry and small-scale commodity production.
