Final Year Project
Project Title
PanelBot: A cleaning Robot for Industrial Solar Panels
Description
Imagine a world where solar energy can be harnessed with maximum efficiency while conserving water and energy—this is what my solar panel cleaning robot aims to achieve. Designed as an autonomous, hardware-based system, this robot cleans solar panels precisely and efficiently, operating on a rail-based system. What makes it groundbreaking is its ability to function without the need for high-level simulation software like ROS or Gazebo. I’ve created a robust system using STM32 microcontrollers, sophisticated algorithms, and sensors to ensure the robot can adapt to real-world conditions. With cost-efficiency, water conservation, and maintenance automation at its core, this robot provides an innovative solution for large-scale solar panel farms in regions where manual cleaning is inefficient and costly. The project not only showcases cutting-edge robotics engineering, but it also contributes to sustainable energy—transforming how we maintain solar power systems for a greener future.
