Project Title
Toyota's Autonomous Tow truck
Description
Our interdisciplinary project focuses on automating the tow trucks used at Indus Motor Company for Toyota car production. A team of CS, EE, and CE students is developing a self-driving tow truck to enhance industrial efficiency and reduce accidents caused by human error. This project aligns with global trends in industrial automation, yet it is locally developed, pioneering automation in Pakistan's manufacturing sector. By integrating ROS2, Nav2, Docker, C++, Python, and advanced algorithms, we are creating a robust autonomous system capable of precise navigation and obstacle avoidance. The project contributes to safer, more efficient industrial operations, reducing downtime and dependency on human drivers. Its successful implementation can pave the way for broader automation in Pakistan's industries, boosting technological advancement and economic growth. This hands-on experience in robotics, AI, and embedded systems provides valuable technical exposure while addressing real-world industrial challenges.
