Project Title

Zafar: Deep Learning-based Automated Topical Urdu Paragraph Generator

Description

Our aim is to automatically generate a paragraph containing more than one sentence with just a few keywords in Urdu. Our work aims to contribute to the NLP for Urdu; thus, it narrows the gap between developments in NLP for languages worldwide. Our work can also be used for further development in NLP for Urdu, such as poetry generation. The dataset we gather will be readily available to others for use in NLP for Urdu. Automated paragraph generation can be used in games to automatically generate stories. These games require automated story-telling (aka Interactive storytelling) as they don’t rely on predefined story lines. Our work will help developers develop such games in Urdu. Our work may also help (or increase the capabilities of) Urdu-based bots to automatically answer a question. Our work will enable bots to generate coherent answers as per the detected keywords in the question. The problem of sentence, paragraph, story, essay generation has been addressed before but never in Urdu.
