Final Year Project

Project Title

Design and Development of an Interactive Web-Based and VR-based Digital Twin of an industrial Industrial Machine for an Existing IoT Platform

Description

Industry 4.0 has taken this world by storm by enhancing automation, efficiency, and innovation. It has proven to be beneficial for industries in many ways such as real-time decision-making, monitoring, and control of the machine. In industries, machines are used on a large scale and their timely monitoring and control are necessary for industries to enhance machine efficiency and throughput. The concept of a digital twin has allowed industries to remotely monitor the status of their machine with the help of IoT platforms that read sensors and provide us with data that can be used to get insights about the machines. In this project, a Web-based and Virtual Reality-based Digital-Twin model is proposed, which can be utilized by industries for timely maintenance and control of their machines. A Web-based Digital Twin allows users to get insights about the machine in a traditional manner. Along with providing insights about the machine, a Virtual Reality-based Digital-Twin will also provide users with an immersive 3D experience, much similar to how humans perceive the actual physical machine. The use of Virtual Reality, which is an emerging technology in domains such as gaming, industries, etc., is utilized here to provide industry personnel with a much more realistic view as compared to the Web-based digital counterpart of the machine.
