Final Year Project

Project Title

Lost African Tribe: The Sheedi Community

Description

During the seventh semester, I conducted my research on the Sheedi Community of Pakistan. The purpose of this research paper was to explore and highlight the struggles of the Sheedi Community in Pakistan and to help them retain their distinct African identity in the midst of other dominating cultures in the country. It investigates their interface with racism and how they are made to deal with problems as a consequence of having a different skin color. In the eighth semester, I took this project forward where I extracted different chunks of stories that I gathered during my research and turned them into a script for my short film.
