Final Year Project
Project Title
PanelBot: An Industrail Solar Panel Cleaning Robot
Description
Our Final Year Project (FYP) focuses on PanelBot, an autonomous robot designed to clean solar panels efficiently. Dust and debris can significantly reduce the efficiency of solar panels, and manual cleaning is often time-consuming and costly. PanelBot automates this process, ensuring regular and effective cleaning with minimal human effort. The robot moves across solar panels, using rotating brushes and a controlled water spray system to remove dirt. It is equipped with sensors to detect panel edges and avoid damage. By automating cleaning, PanelBot helps improve energy output, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the lifespan of solar panels. This project aims to make solar energy systems more efficient and sustainable. The findings suggest that regular automated cleaning can increase energy production and make solar farms more cost-effective. PanelBot offers a practical solution for maintaining solar installations, supporting the broader adoption of clean and renewable energy.
