Final Year Project

Project Title

The Effects of COVID-19 on Youth Mental Health: Focusing on University Students in Karachi

Description

An exploratory study where participants were interviewed about their experiences on the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Multiple interviews were conducted, with in-depth data collection which was then analysed using MAXQDA. The results of the study found that there was an increase in stress levels and anxiety caused by the uncertainty surrounding the situation. It was also found that staying confined in their homes was not beneficial for the mental health of the youth, who often felt isolated and trapped. The results, therefore, suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected the mental health of the youth of Karachi.
