Project Title
DC-DC Bidirectional Converter Controlled via FPGA-in-loop for EV Applications
Description
We have brought the concept of Hardware in Loop rapid prototyping at undergrad level at Habib for first time using FPGA to design controller for isolated Bidirectional Converter with specifications used in Electric Vehicle drive systems. The controllers are designed and optimized in Simulink environment and deployed on FPGA to study its transient and steady state response in order to better optimize. The project provides scope for cutting time and cost for building actual hardware for DC converters and controllers by replacing the need for physical implementation, using a programmable hardware like FPGA and use it to study the real-life response and behavior. The study conducted for techniques of HIL is widely used in industry and can benefit the students at the undergraduate level who intend to establish their career in industry.
