Final Year Project

Project Title

Non-Destructive Testing of Foam in Refrigerator Cabinets

Description

Developed an ultrasonic NDT system to detect internal voids in polyurethane foam using time-of-flight measurements. The system integrates a PGA460 analog front end with an STM32 microcontroller for high-speed data acquisition and real-time signal processing. A DSP pipeline with bandpass filtering and cross-correlation extracts features from ultrasonic echoes to identify defects with high accuracy. Designed using Zephyr RTOS for efficient task management, the solution aims to reduce material waste, improve quality control, and enable cost savings in industrial manufacturing processes.
