The Office of Teaching & Learning envisions an inspiring academic community at Habib University, where all educational experiences and academic support empower every student to achieve their fullest potential aligned with Habib Vision, Mission and Values. We support the university in becoming a leader in academic excellence, where knowledge is not only taught but continually created, shared, and applied to foster local and global impact.

Purpose

The Office for Teaching & Learning catalyzes the academic programs at Habib to collaborate and create meaningful learning experiences for student success. We aim to create opportunities for the academic community for the application and dissemination of their knowledge, and self-cultivation.

CPE

CPE (Center for Pedagogical Excellence) is managed by the Office of Teaching, Learning and used as a platform through which to explore, analyse, create and develop different tools, methods and approaches to knowledge exchange. We aim to ensure that faculty are able to design and deliver educational experiences that transcend a typical course design and delivery.

Profile:
  • Muneera is currently the Associate Dean for Teaching & Learning at Habib University. She is also an Assistant Professor in the department of Communication and Design where she teaches theatre and interdisciplinary courses in installation art. Her pedagogy centers on the idea of play, creating from intuition, and silencing the mind through meditation. Muneera is a practicing theatre director and media designer. In her practice, she takes a phenomenological approach to research that leads to collaborative interdisciplinary performances. Muneera earned her MFA in Theatre with a concentration in interdisciplinary digital media from Arizona State University, USA, on a Fulbright Scholarship. She also holds an M.A. in Multimedia Arts from National College of Arts, Lahore.

Profile:
  • Raheel Lakhani is an Assistant Director, Research and Faculty Development at Habib University, brings over a decade of experience in educational administration, faculty development, learning design and qualitative research. Previously, his professional roles included championing integration of technology in face-to-face and blended instructional context. He holds an M.Ed. (with High Honors) from The Aga Khan University and an MA in Technology and Social Change from Lunds Universitet, Sweden. His interests lie in eLearning pedagogy, learner autonomy and self-directed learning, pluralism education, youth development and community-building, and visual narratives.

Profile:
  • Haris Hamid has professional experience in Educational Technology, Instructional Design and Curriculum Design. Prior to joining Habib University, he managed the Virtual College department at The Citizens Foundation, Pakistan. He has also served as an Educational Consultant at Kazim Trust and Lahore Autism Center, where he trained teachers and co-designed blended learning programs for K-12 students.

Profile:
  • Rowan is a joyful artist and graphic designer from Karachi, Pakistan. Their passion lies in working on projects that are grounded in methodology and theoretical frameworks. Most of their work is aimed at bridging the gap between research and practice; experimenting with visual identities and typographical treatments to create thought-provoking projects. Working as an Assistant Manager at The Office of Teaching and Learning, they assist the office in crafting workshops, creating design materials and ensuring the smooth running of events hosted by the office.
