Executive Council Overview

The Habib University Alumni Association Executive Council acts as the representative body of all members of the HU Alumni Association. The Council will lead and, in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations & Engagement and other HU stakeholders, steer the direction of the Alumni Student Association to the best of their abilities during the course of their 2-year term.

The Executive Council will be responsible for developing their Terms of Reference and seeking approval of these terms from the association members to ensure accountability and representativeness.

The President is the primary representative of the Habib University Alumni Association Executive Council. Responsibilities and functions of alumni association president include:

  • Preside over council meetings, set the agenda, and ensure the smooth running of all proceedings.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the council.
  • Represent the alumni community in university events, board meetings, and other significant platforms.
  • Liaise with university officials, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the council's programs and initiatives, such as alumni association activities aimed at enhancing engagement and connection among alumni.
  • Coordinate with other council members to ensure that goals are being met.

The Vice President supports the President in fulfilling their duties and steps in during their absence. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the President in overseeing the functions of the council.
  • Coordinate and manage special projects and initiatives as directed by the President.
  • Serve as an additional representative for the alumni community when needed.
  • Ensure smooth communication between different members of the council.
  • Assist the President in setting and implementing strategic plans.

The General Secretary manages the administrative tasks of the council. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all communication within the council, including meeting notifications, agendas, and minutes.
  • Handle external communication, including official correspondence and public announcements.
  • Maintain and update the council's records and documents.
  • Keep track of the council's activities and update the timeline of projects.
  • Ensure the smooth coordination of council events and initiatives.

The Treasurer oversees the financial management of the council. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the council's budget, including income and expenditure.
  • Prepare financial reports and update the council on the financial status regularly.
  • Ensure the financial transparency and integrity of the council.
  • Oversee fundraising efforts and manage financial transactions related to donations.
  • Coordinate with the university's finance department for any necessary financial proceedings.
