Media Showcase

The Media Showcase spotlights powerful storytelling that explores the complexities of social equity through visual and narrative forms. This stream invites submissions of documentaries, photo essays, and longform journalism, grounded in ethical, research-informed storytelling and focused on urgent issues in South Asia. Submissions may draw from investigative journalism, ethnographic fieldwork, oral histories, or creative reportage—demonstrating a strong commitment to accuracy, consent, and responsible representation.

The showcase seeks to amplify voices and lived realities often overlooked in academic or policy spaces, recognizing the vital role of media in shaping public understanding, fostering empathy, and sparking action. Submissions are welcome from journalists, filmmakers, researchers, artists, and students.

This space also aims to foster critical dialogue on storytelling ethics, narrative power, and the intersections of media, activism, and scholarship—encouraging collaboration between creators, researchers, and communities.

Submissions may include completed works or in-progress pieces that effectively communicate a coherent story. Applicants should include a brief creator statement reflecting on their methods, positionality, and intended audience.
