President's speech

President Wasif Rizvi addressed the Class of 2024 at their convocation, acknowledging their resilience in overcoming the unique challenges posed by COVID-19. In keeping with Habib University's tradition of tashakkur-expressing gratitude, he encouraged them to join him in recognizing the distinguished faculty members who have supported them in their transformative journey, and the Mohsineen whose generous scholarships supported 87% of the graduates. Reflecting on their remarkable educational and transformative experience at Habib University, he urged our graduates to embrace tenets of YOHSIN – self-awareness and humility – in their lifelong journey of self-cultivation and healing the world.

Kamil Khan Mumtaz

At the Habib Convocation 2024, commencement speaker Mr. Kamil Khan Mumtaz - architect, educator, and author, addressed the graduating #Classof2024, urging them to reject the false narrative propagated by a few powerful countries that has led to genocide against the Palestinian people.
Mr. Khan encouraged them to break free from the chains of capitalism that sacrifice humanity and perpetuate mass extinction. His message resonated with a call to cease listening to the tales of utopian lands, to refuse to adorn themselves with the chains of modern-day slavery, and to refuse silence in the face of humanity's decline and unfolding mass extinction.

Awards Night

The annual Awards Night at Habib University celebrated the academic prowess of esteemed faculty with Distinguished Teaching Awards and the outstanding achievements exceptional #HUGrads 2024. The ceremony exemplified the values of Yoshin, reflecting the University’s commitment to thoughtful self-cultivation and epistemic reparation.
