Author Guidelines for Journal Submissions

  • Submissions are open for all papers produced in undergraduate Pakistani universities by students currently enrolled or alumni.
  • Academic pieces from any field of the social as well as engineering sciences that have an interdisciplinary approach or aspect are accepted. Namely, some of the fields the journal’s scope extends to include, comparative literature, religion and philosophy, political economy, political science, history and postcolonial analysis, arts informed research, computational social science and systems analysis.
  • Tezhib Academic Journal accepts papers based on primary research, papers based on
    secondary research, book reviews and literary analyses. Tezhib Journal is a digital
    publication that aspires to include diverse forms of knowledge and is open to
    submissions in multivarious mediums such as photovoice, design research, and others,
    as long as the project is supported by the journal format.
  • Tezhib Academic Journal accepts papers based on original research, secondary research, book reviews, and literary analyses.   • Only work that is previously unpublished is accepted. If your submitted work is being considered for publication elsewhere, please inform us.
  • Works submitted should demonstrate critical and evidence-based engagement with its subject.
  • Papers produced outside of coursework may be considered in exceptional cases. Please note that submissions not produced as part of coursework still have to be works of undergraduate university students.
  • Tezhib aims to make academic work more accessible. Therefore, it is advised that complex theory, jargon and specialized terminology is used minimally and clearly explained within the body of the work.
  • Citations are necessary where required in-text, along with the references section. APA citation style, 7th Edition is preferred.
  • The word limit (exclusive of the references section) for each category is as follows:
    • Original/primary research papers: 5000 – 7500 words.
    • Secondary research papers (term papers): 1500 – 4000 words
    • Book reviews: 1000 – 1500 words
  • Original research work has to be accompanied with a faculty sponsorship form that is also to be attached within the email.

Faculty Sponsorship Form (only applicable for original research submission)

  • The form is a declaration by the instructor who supervised the research concerning research ethics, quality of work and originality of the research idea/question. The letter must be attached as a separate PDF document with the instructor’s computerized signature to the email submission.
  • The sponsoring letter should indicate that the sponsor has read and critiqued the manuscript on its content, method, grammar, and overall presentation. In addition, assert that the research followed ethics guidelines as set by the institutional review board of the university where it has been produced. Lastly it should confirm that the manuscript represents the work of undergraduate student(s)/author(s). The letter must include the following statement at the end.
  • I, [FACULTY SPONSOR’S NAME] certify that I have observed Tezhib Undergraduate Research Journal’s submission guidelines and hereby recognize [STUDENT’S NAME] work as original. I am a voluntary and willing sponsor of this work.
  • Formatting Guidelines
    • Submission should be standard font size 12, in Times New Roman and double-spaced. The document pages should be numbered.
    • Title of your work should be in bold at the top and center aligned.
    • All English writings should use American English.
  • Submit your work as a word document file. The word document should not include any identifiable details such as name, grades etc.
  • Submission must be sent in the form of an email attachment to, with the subject line ‘Tezhib Journal Submission: Category Name’. Please name the submission file as follows: LastName_FirstName.doc. Include the following details within the email:
    • Name
    • University
    • Year of Graduation
    • Major/Degree
    • Submission category name [original research, secondary research, book review, literary analysis, other]
    • Name of the course the paper was written for
    • Course Instructor’s Name
    • Grade received on the paper
  • If your submission was not produced as part of coursework, please specify this and in addition to all aforementioned details excluding course details, give the following as well:
    • Nature of your work
    • Motivation/purpose behind it
    • If and under whose supervision it was produced
    • Time period [in dates] you worked on this project
  • Once you have submitted your paper, you can expect a confirmation email within two weeks. If not, please write back to us.
  • The editor may return the manuscript for revisions, and publication is subject to whether the author is willing to revise their work.
  • The deadline to apply for Tezhib Journal: Volume II is January 31st, 2021.

Multiple submissions are not accepted unless the second submission by the same applicant is co-authored, and where the concerned does not have first authorship.

ہدایات برائے گلزار

:تذہیب تحقیقی مجلّے کے حصّے گلزار کے لیے اپنی تحریریں اور نگارشات بھیجنے والے خواہشمندوں سے درخواست ہے کہ وہ مندرجہ ذیل ہدایات کا خاص خیال رکھیں

اس حصّے میں پاکستان کی تمام انڈرگریجویٹ جامعات کے طلباٰء اور سابق طلباء کی نگارشات قابل قبول ہوں گی۔

تحریریں اردو یا کسی بھی علاقائی زبان میں ہوں سکتی ہیں۔

نگارشات کی نوعیت کا صرف تحقیقی ہونا ضروری نہیں بلکہ کسی بھی علمی، ادبی یا لسانی موضوع پر کیا گیا کام قابل قبول ہوگا۔

ایسی تحریریں بھی قابل قبول ہوں گی جو جامعہ کے نصاب یا کورس ورک سے متعلق نہ ہوں، لیکن مصنف کا پاکستان کی کسی بھی انڈر گریجویٹ جامعہ سے متعلق ہونا شرط ہے۔

اگر آپ کوئی ایسی تحریر ارسال کرنا چاہتے ہیں جو کسی کورس ورک کے لیے لکھی گئی تھی اورمذکورہ کورس مقامی زبان کے ساتھ ساتھ انگریزی زبان میں بھی تحریر لکھنے کی اجازت دیتا ہے، ان تحریروں کا اندراج انگریزی زبان میں بھی کیا جائے گا۔ البتہ ان کے شائع ہونے کا حتمی فیصلہ نگارشات کے معیار اور فیکلٹی ایڈوائزری بورڈ کی مشاورت کے ساتھ کیا جائے گا۔

تحریریں کم سے کم تین اور زیادہ سے زیادہ پانچ بڑے صفحات پر مشتمل ہوں۔

غیر مطبوعہ تحریریں ہی قابل قبول ہوں گی۔ اگر آپ نے اپنی تحریر کہیں اور اشاعت کی غرض سے بھیج رکھی ہے تو اس کی اطلاع دینا لازم ہے۔

تحریریں ان پیچ اردو یا یونی کوڈ ورڈ فائل کی صورت میں ارسال کریں، پی ڈی ایف فائل قابل قبول نہ ہوگی۔ :نگارشات مندرجہ زیل پتے پر ارسال کریں

نگارشات ارسال کرنے کے دو ہفتوں میں گلزار کی جانب سے جواب کی امید رکھی جاسکتی ہے۔ جواب موصول نہ ہونے کی صورت میں ہمارے پتے پر جواب طلب کیا جاسکتا ہے۔

مجلّے کا مدیر کو اس بات کا حق حاصل ہے کہ وہ جائزے کے بعد تحریرات کو مزید اصلاح کے لیے دوبارہ مصنف کو بھیج دے اوراس کے شائع ہونے کا دارو مدار اس بات پر ہے کہ مصنف ضروری اصلاح کرنے پر رضامند ہو۔
