Constructing Inequality: Analyzing the Role of School Textbooks in Shaping Gender Roles and Perpetuating Social Inequities in Pakistan
\nThis research explores gender inequality in Pakistans education system through its of curriculum development. Using Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), it examines how textbooks, teaching practices, and policies reinforce gender biases. The study identifies three key mechanisms Modeling, Enactive Experience, and Self-Regulation that sustain stereotypical gender roles in education. Findings reveal that women are underrepresented in leadership and STEM roles, while textbooks disproportionately highlight male figures, shaping students career aspirations. The study recommends curriculum reforms, gender-sensitive teacher training, and policy interventions to foster inclusivity. I will develop childrens biography books on influential women, such as Fatima Jinnah, to highlight their contributions and inspire young girls. This initiative aims to provide a fresh, equitable perspective on the role of Pakistani women, ensuring that future generations see themselves as leaders, innovators, and changemakers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
