The Impact Of Social Capital On Health Behaviors: A Comparative Study Of Pakistan Vs The Average Middle East
\nThis comparative study examines the impact of social capital on health behaviors in Pakistan and the average Middle East, focusing on physical activity, diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, and mental health. Social capital, encompassing trust, networks, and civic engagement, can shape lifestyle choices and health outcomes. The study hypothesizes that social capital promotes positive health behaviors, but its effects may differ between Pakistan and the Middle East due to varying economic, cultural, and social factors. Using secondary data, the study contrasts how social capital influences health behaviors in both regions, highlighting the role of socioeconomic and cultural elements. Findings suggest that in Pakistan, bonding social capital, especially through close-knit family ties, is more prominent, particularly in rural areas. In contrast, the Middle Easts urbanized, fragmented society relies more on bridging and linking social capital.
