Consequently, they struggle to adjust to and thrive in the university environment, facing more obstacles than their peers, yet their experiences and struggles remain unheard due to a lack of research, further marginalizing them. This qualitative research aimed to capture the struggles and coping mechanisms of FGUs in Karachi, with findings suggesting that a student\u2019s family, awareness, previously acquired social capital, and intersecting identities (such as socioeconomic background and gender) affect their adjustment to the university environment and academic journey.
