R3 Series is new series of Faculty talks centred around some excellent courses that have been created at Habib. The goal is to present ideas discussed in these courses to the rest of the community and to spark conversations that can lead to collaborations across disciplines. These conversations will be designed in a format similar to TED talks and will eventually turn into a flagship talk series hosted annually by the Centre for Pedagogical Excellence (CPE) at Habib University.

We hope all of you are doing wonderfully. The Habib Debate Union is pleased to announce that we are hosting an inaugural showcase debate against IBA. It will be taking place tomorrow, Tuesday the 30th of August 2022, during golden hour (2.30 to 3.30) in the Auditorium. The topic (or the motion) for the debate is as follows:
There is a zombie outbreak where 1% of the world is infected. They are all kept in a pen at great expense. We have a vaccination, and the other 99% are vaccinated – they will not be zombified, but the 1% are still dangerous, and there is no cure. This House Would kill the 1%
It should be fun! (We hope). The Habib Debate Union will be represented by the team of Zainab Javaid, Fawwaz Ahmed and Maliha Irfan. We would love for the Habib Community to join us in the audience and support whichever side they find themselves agreeing with. Or let tribalism do its thing and just support us by default. Your choice!
On June 2, 2022, Habib University hosted its Awards Night preceding the #HUConvocation2022. The event was a formal affair, attended by the Class of 2022, the faculty, alongside Mr. Muhammad H. Habib, President, Habib Bank AG Zurich, the President, Wasif A. Rizvi, Board of Governors and the senior leadership of the University.
The night began with a rousing performance by the Habib Orchestra and continued with acknowledging the hard work of the Class of 2022 via the Programmatic Awards, HUSG Awards, Commencement Awards, and the announcement of the Class Valedictorian Award. The event also recognized the relentless efforts of the Habib Faculty for continued pedagogical excellence through the Teaching Awards.
We have invited Hassan Bin Shaheen to shed some light on things you shall discover as fresh graduates. HU faculty and staff is also invited to accompany you in this journey of laughter.
Scavenger Hunt: we have registered 25 teams and over 100 students (class of 2022) will be competing in an exciting challenge on campus from 3pm – 5pm. If students approach you for help, please be generous!
Hit-posting Show: our very own, Dr Anzar Khaliq and Mr. Yousuf Kerai will be on stage once again to test your “general knowledge” in an interesting and hilarious show for the class of 2022. We invite you all to attend this memorable event full of laughter at 5.15pm in the auditorium.
Has the campus ATM stolen your card again? The exchange rate got you down? Did the South African High Commission reject your visa application because, officially, NADRA is convinced you were married in 1978 (but born in 1990)? Do you want to stop running that AC all day at home and save on some bills? But, more importantly –
Do you want to see an ACTUAL Pakistani film (several of them)? Some little displays solving some big problems? Some beautiful art? Some immersive experiences to transport you to far off futures? A famous personality or two? Our CND 2022 students in a state of utter shock (and hopefully euphoria)?
