We are now moving this conversation forward by holding an event (April 08, 2025), at Habib University, where the Playground team hopes to showcase academic works (undergraduate level student projects) and on ground projects and programs being run by civil society groups that in some ways are contributing to generating new and innovative ideas and actions for making Karachi a greener and more sustainable city. In the proposed event, student research and actions can be presented in an interactive manner with display exhibits, project stalls set in place where participants can engage with the projects. This display and participatory space will be coupled with holding of panel discussions and selected presentations. The participating student and organizational ideas and actions will be documented as a Learning Toolkit, during the summer break where key learnings, outcomes, impacts are documented in a visually appealing and reader friendly way. This Learning Toolkit, will then form the basis for the holding of the second event where these learnings are shared with key government agencies

If an individual capacity or in a group format you have conducted any research work at Habib University that finds resonance with the event theme, which you would like to have showcased in the event, then please get in touch with the Playground team by ………….,

Guided by a vision to establish model towns across the rural landscape of our country, integrating essential facilities into a well-connected ecosystem that benefits underserved communities, the Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization has transformed Tando Allahyar, Sindh, into a beacon of hope and progress. Rashidabad—a city built on compassion and collaboration—demonstrates the power of collective action in uplifting society.
