Description:

University students are just beginning to find their own voices, and can lack clarity and confidence in their ideas and vision. This session will provide them with concrete skills to clarify their ideas, shape their communication according to the audience, and present themselves with confidence.

The session is based on Storytelling in Motion, an original technique that blends the human instinct for creating shared meaning through stories and storytelling with the power of the body to communicate in a universal language.
Using the Storytelling in Motion technique, participants will:
Learn how to make decisions about how they present themselves and their story.

Understand how to adjust their story across diverse audiences.

Understand the importance of nonverbal communication and tone in supporting or contradicting their message, and how aligning these elements can lead to effective, impactful, and clear communication.

Become aware of how emotions affect presentation and delivery and gain techniques to regulate.

The session will be experiential, active, and hands-on. It is not a lecture. Participants should expect to be standing or walking often throughout the session.
