Washington vs. DC: The Impact of Limited Self-Government in the Capital of the (Self-Proclaimed) World’s Greatest Democracy

Sapna Pandya, MPH is the Executive Director of Many Languages One Voice (www.mlovdc.org) or “M-Love”, a Washington DC-based non-profit organization which builds the leadership and greater civic participation of the District’s low-income immigrants in solutions that impact their lives. Prior to incorporating Many Languages One Voice, Sapna served as the Director of Programs for the South Asian Health Initiative at the Center for Immigrant Health which was housed at NYU School of Medicine. She has a Masters in Public Health from the George Washington University and continues to keep one toe in HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in India and Pakistan, even while focusing her current efforts on a very local level.
