In this vein, OTL\u2019s Pedagogical Development Week (PDW) held annually in August has offerings (workshops, panel discussions, talks) helping faculty build capacity in terms of teaching and learning. \r\nPDW also aims to inspire the community of  instructors at Habib University through showcasing the best courses. \r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<button class=\"accordion-btn\">PDW &#8220;24&#8221;: Sparking New Conversations<\/button>\r\n<div class=\"panel_acc\" style=\"display: none;\">PDW\u201924, themed &#8220;Sparking New Conversations,&#8221; brought together faculty for insightful discussions on student advising, the future of teaching and learning, and their first teaching experiences at Habib University.\r\n<br>\r\nHeld in August, PDW offered dynamic sessions on AI integration in assessment design, prompt engineering with generative AI, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), Digital Humanities, the Critical Response Process for feedback, mindfulness, the politics of teaching history, illustration, alternative pedagogies, and contemplative studies.\r\n<br>\r\nThe event opened with Rethink, Redesign, Reimagine (R3), a flagship session where Teaching Excellence Award winners from DSSE, AHSS, and the Habib Liberal Core shared their innovative approaches in a TEDx-style talk.\r\n<br>\r\nBuilding a strong sense of community among faculty was a key highlight of PDW\u201924. Engaging activities like theatre and board games encouraged collaboration, while Ustaads (teachers) from the South Asian Music Center enriched the experience by sharing their musical pedagogy and performing live.\r\n<br>\r\nFaculty and fellows actively participated, with full-time members engaging in at least nine hours of sessions. In this event, an instructor shares a pedagogical challenge or idea with a group of fellow instructors who provide feedback aimed at resolving the issue or enriching the idea. The goal through this event is to support Habib University faculty\/fellows through open dialogue and diverse perspectives. The instructors in attendance gain new insights and inspiration, which they can apply in their own classrooms. The discussion, which is open to both instructors and students to attend, aims to dive into how students learn best in a classroom setting and which pedagogical methods, tools and assessments resonate with them the most.
