Being a liberal arts institute, Habib University fully supports its students as well as faculty<\/strong><\/a> to explore varied disciplines such as languages, philosophy, sciences, the arts and humanities. This exploration of ideas and exchange of knowledge is ingrained into the HU philosophy<\/strong><\/a>, and is something that the HU community is proud to build upon, through its network of academics, scholars, activists, practitioners and corporate, and public policy-makers on a global scale.<\/p>\n

One of the latest accomplishments of our faculty in this regard, thus, was carried out by Dr. Markus Heidingsfelder<\/strong><\/a>, who was the Keynote speaker at the 3rd<\/sup> International Conference on Arts and Humanities (ICOAH 2016)<\/strong><\/a>, on Thursday, 22nd<\/sup> September.<\/p>\n

The conference, held in Bali, Indonesia, was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM)<\/strong><\/a> and was attended by scholars, practitioners, academicians and the like, from around the world, each sharing their insights on their respective disciplines. The themes explored within the conference ranged from the Infusion of Arts and Sciences, Adapting to the Anthropocene Age, \u201cNetworked Humanity\u201d, Cultural and Cognitive Imagination, Rhizomatic Analysis, and the Utilization of Arts and Humanities as Cultural Bridges.<\/p>\n

A visual and literature based exploration of the connections that arts and humanities allows us as citizens, the conference shed light on how the two disciplines bridge the gap between the past, present and the future, between cultures, age gaps, ethnicities, and disciplines. It also explored as well as raised fundamental questions about life through the arts, literature and philosophy.<\/p>\n

Dr. Heidingsfelder led the Keynote Forum on Thursday, representing Habib University as he spoke on \u201cObserving Media Observers\u201d. He also chaired several sessions throughout the conference, sharing his insights and connecting with professors and academicians from universities across the globe, including India, United States, Australia, Canada, Finland, Malaysia, Japan, Iran and the Philippines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
