The case study was published on Microsoft\u2019s website as a success story under the banner, <a href=\"https:\/\/customers.microsoft.com\/Pages\/CustomerStory.aspx?recid=27591\" target=\"_blank\"><em>\u2018Habib University: Pakistan\u2019s newest University\u2019s Microsoft-powered liberation\u2019<\/em><\/a><em>, <\/em>praising the University\u2019s commitment to <em>\u2018<\/em><em>ensure that their students benefitted from the latest technologies\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1508\" src=\"https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-1.jpg\" alt=\"inside-1\" width=\"702\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-1.jpg 702w, https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-1-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-1-620x365.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 702px) 100vw, 702px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>HU\u2019s E-Application system serves as a portal for prospective students to, out of various things, upload relevant documents (biographical\/academic) and store relevant information, while also be able to retrieve it anytime they want. Needless to say, this system is the backbone of HU\u2019s technical infrastructure serving as the prime medium connecting prospective students and the University.<\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of HU\u2019s exponential growth in terms of attracting students from across the country, the University needed an e-application system which was reliable, cost effective, low maintenance, and up-to-date. Keeping all these variables in mind, <strong>Mr. Waqar Naqvi<\/strong>, Senior Manager, Business Computing \u2013 IT, along with the senior management decided to move towards Azure (PaaS) from Amazon\u2019s (IaaS).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1509\" src=\"https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-2.jpg\" alt=\"inside-2\" width=\"702\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-2.jpg 702w, https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-2-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/inside-2-620x352.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 702px) 100vw, 702px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Living up to HU\u2019s motto of \u2018Shaping Futures\u2019, the University has been successful in shaping the future of the E-Application system which continues to pay dividends.
