The trip was partially funded by the Student Council and <a href=\"http:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/current-students\">Office of Student Life<\/a>.\u00a0 Twenty-five students of HU, along with a staff member, Faheem Khan, were part of the trip.<\/p>\n<p>They traveled by train, car, jeep, truck, and everything else imaginable to go on this once in a lifetime journey up to the northern areas of Pakistan.\u00a0 Packed with history, fun, trekking, skiing, and late night conversations, students had a great time connecting with a part of Pakistan many of them had never seen.<\/p>\n<p>During their trip they traveled to Mingora and saw the White Palace on Marghzar Hill.\u00a0 Next stop was Malam Jabba, where students spent the day skiing, snow-tubing, and making snowmen. On the third day, students left early to go to Kalam where they visited the Kalam Bazar, Royal Mosque, trekked in the Ushu forest, and also experienced night time temperatures of -12\u00b0C!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1233\" src=\"https:\/\/habib.edu.pk\/HU-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/inside-1-3.jpg\" alt=\"inside-1\" width=\"193\" height=\"269\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, students visited Takht-i-Bahi where they were able to take a tour of a Buddhist monastery and the Stupa Court.\u00a0 In Takht-i-Bahi students also enjoyed the locality\u2019s famous Chapli kababs.<\/p>\n<p>Next stop was Murree and Patriata where they rode cable cars and went on a horse ride.\u00a0 The last evening in Islamabad, students enjoyed a formal dinner at the Monal restaurant atop the Pir Sohawa peak before the long train ride back to Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, new friendships were made, students saw some remarkable sights in Pakistan, and Adventure Club had another successful trip to add to the list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over winter break this January, 22 students from Habib University\u2019s Adventure Club went on an expedition to Swat and surrounding areas.
