The Summer Career Academy (SCA) 2026, organized by the Office of Career Services<\/a> at Habib University, was a 15-day immersive program designed to equip sophomore students with the knowledge, skills, and exposure needed to navigate the professional world. From building a personal profile and resume to exploring AI tools and gaining direct industry experience, the Academy offered a comprehensive introduction to the corporate landscape.<\/p>\n

SCA began on June 3 with an orientation where the necessary details about the Academy.<\/p>\n

Selected Sessions in Highlights<\/h2>\n

Summer Career Academy 2026 had several sessions spanning across two weeks.<\/p>\n

Enter the Arena<\/h3>\n

\"idealIDEAL staff conducted the session at IDEAL, a state-of-the-art learning space at Habib University, where students examined the role of Gen Z in today’s workplace, identified challenges that commonly arise within corporate environments, and pitched creative media-based solutions to address them. The session encouraged critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving from the outset.<\/p>\n

Power Up: AI Toolkit Unlocked<\/h3>\n

Dr. Abdus Samad, Associate Professor of Computer Science, facilitated a session on prompt engineering, guiding students on how to train AI models using their own essays and writings to produce authentic, human-style content. The session introduced students to the practical applications of AI in professional contexts.<\/p>\n

Alumni Mentorship<\/h3>\n

An alumni panel, comprising graduates from different programs, gave students the opportunity to hear directly from Habib University graduates, who shared industry insights, career journeys, and lessons learned. The session was followed by the “Battle Arena,” an interactive activity in which students pitched their backup career plans in a Dragon’s Den format, sharpening their ability to think and communicate ideas persuasively.<\/p>\n

The Talent Standard Panel<\/h3>\n

Seasoned professionals from leading organizations, including BYD Pakistan and Engro Polymer, participated in a panel discussion moderated by Esha Irshad Zaidi, Management Trainee, Office of Career Services. The conversation centered on the skills and qualities organisations are actively seeking, giving students a candid look at market expectations.<\/p>\n

Create Your LinkedIn Profile & Digital Identity<\/h3>\n

\"moizMoiz Khan, Head of Digital at Habib University, introduced students to the 3C Strategy, built around commenting, content, and connections, demonstrating how to use AI tools to identify target audiences and build a professional network organically and effectively that can lead them to professional success.<\/p>\n

An Introduction to Entrepreneurship<\/h3>\n

The Startup Syndicate, a platform that supports early-stage startups through consultancy and networking, led an interactive session on entrepreneurship. Students engaged in a simulation of a one-year business roadmap, with a focus on building and selling solutions rather than products, offering a practical foundation in entrepreneurial thinking.<\/p>\n

Immersive Field Visits<\/h2>\n

The second half of the Academy moved beyond the classroom with visits to leading organizations, giving students first-hand exposure to how institutions operate and the opportunity to connect with Habib University alumni working within them.<\/p>\n

TDF Magnificence Center<\/h3>\n

Students explored scientific exhibits spread across multiple floors of the TDF Magnifiscience Center, followed by a Q&A session with the management team. Fawad Sumro, CEO of Dawood Foundation, spoke to the world-class research underpinning the facility, noting, “There is a lot of research that happens, and we can learn from other communities internationally.”<\/p>\n

Habib Bank Limited Visit<\/h3>\n

\"hblAt Habib Bank Limited<\/a>, students received a first-hand introduction to the world of banking, covering financial literacy, investment strategies, and career pathways within the sector. Chief Marketing Officer Ali Habib engaged students in an open conversation about how the banking industry works, addressing common misconceptions along the way. Chief of Human Resources Jamal Nasir encouraged students to invest in their professional development early, emphasising the importance of continuous learning throughout one’s educational journey.<\/p>\n

English Biscuit Manufacturer (EBM) Factory Visit<\/h3>\n

The final industry visit took students through EBM<\/a>‘s production facility, where they observed the full manufacturing process of biscuits, from dough preparation to packaging, gaining insight into the technology and operational complexity behind large-scale production. A one-to-one session with the Human Resources team gave students the opportunity to ask questions about required skills, scope of work, and expectations for new hires.<\/p>\n

Case Study Challenge & Mind Mapping<\/h3>\n

The Academy’s final day opened with a collaborative case study exercise. Students were placed in interdisciplinary teams of five and tasked with developing a strategic plan for a fictional NGO, Project Reconnect, working within a budget of PKR 12 million to restore public trust in the organization. Teams presented their proposals to a panel of Office of Career Services members, demonstrating the analytical, creative, and communication skills developed across the program.<\/p>\n

Awards & Closing Ceremony<\/h3>\n

The Academy concluded with a closing ceremony in the main auditorium, attended by invited faculty and staff. The Office of Career Services team announced category winners and distributed certificates to all participants, marking the close of an intensive and rewarding two weeks.<\/p>\n

The Summer Career Academy 2026 offered students far more than career advice. It gave them direct access to industry leaders, alumni who have walked the path before them, and real-world challenges that demanded original thinking.
