Job prospects: What are you in for once you graduate, Habib Uni tells students


KARACHI: Habib University brought together a group of panelists to give the students, their parents and school counsellors a clear picture of career prospects today and tomorrow.

The event, titled ‘Shaping Futures, Crafting Careers Seminar’ was held at the university campus in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Thursday. It explored the professional landscape in Pakistan and the value of an interdisciplinary liberal arts educational experience for successful careers in the job market. The panelists included Indus Motors CEO Pervaiz Ghais, Zaeem Arshad who is the division head of Rapidcompute, a pioneer in cloud computing in Pakistan, Technologix CEO and founder Salman Akhtar and others.

The audience was also given insights into what employers all across the job market look for in a potential employee. According to the panelists, the focus of the job market is rapidly shifting to students who are critical thinkers and are creative enough to adapt to multiple scenarios and circumstances.
